Summary:

• There is a deep desire among millions of us – both as individuals and organizations – for a future which is truly prosperous, sustainable and humane.

• There is also widespread fear that the profound, globalizing changes now washing over every person, family, organization and society are carrying us away from, not towards, such a future.

• There is no place to hide from such globalizing change. Human freedom in history never means the freedom to escape the fundamental trends of an epoch. (Langdon Gilkey)

• To ensure relevance, we must learn to explore and understand profound societal change.

• We must also learn to capitalize on change – to grasp the strategic opportunities and mitigate the threats which are hidden within it, and to do so before the opportunities dissipate and the threats become crises.

Until now, no organization has been solely dedicated to encouraging and enabling all of us to learn to understand and capitalize on change and to do so in a holistic manner.
